Report a translation problem
I've been doing them often and still nowhere near through the lot.
"Raise Affinity to ★ of someone of the opposite sex by using Causality Link" - Did it already on multiple occasions, but apparently somebody *specific* is meant. Also - there is no "using" of Causality Link, it's just a referencing sheet / board.
"Find a friend and increase Affinity to ★ by using Causality Link" - Again, not simply finding a friend, but finding some "specific" friend (adjacent?)
"Meet someone of the opposite sex with Apparition Delusion" - okay, so going through 524 profiles, to find it each and every time.
"Raise Affinity with crush to ★" - who the f*ck is "crush"?
Feels like they just fed it to google translate. And because the game isn't exactly ultra-popular, i can't find any english guide either.
Actually while yes I've noticed translation mistakes as well there actually isn't for your problems mentioned all the clues and such are explained in full by reading the profile card and looking at the causality link chart the lines that connect people are there personal connections so if they ask to raise their friends to 3 or star they mean the specified number of people connected by the lines. As for the introduce a person with a specific problem to another person with a specific problem is also exactly that. As for the crush I'm going to go out on a limb and say read the profile card and it might say who the crush is.
As for the 2 quest system of the old version yes it was time consuming but the quests tended to be no harder then the ones shown now or even simpler plus you got double rewards. And the point was more for the immersion of the story and it was all honestly optional and it's not uncommon for some games to put a near impossible achievement option in it.
Murf:
Actually some of the "alleviation" things are completely wrong...
I noticed that one in particular - I think from memory it was " Equip Honeypot and Meet a person of the opposite gender with the Conformity trait": once you equip Honeypot, it tells you to meet with a person with the Arrogant Monarch trait. I haven't tried talking to an Arrogant Monarch though, since I had already summoned someone with Conformity and that worked fine.
As for " Meet someone with X trait", have to rely on personal spreadsheet but I haven't done many of those quests yet anyway. No efficient way to check either, you basically have to look through the 505 people on the Causality link.
Can't check RN but does a person's status page show their crush (if you have them at 3 affinity)?
Translations are probably alright at best, not many spelling mistakes (can only think of one of the World Rewards). I was thinking about one moment in particular though, where the JP voices didn't seem to match the text given AT ALL (the Sea Paraiso part about the 28 days in a month bit, I didn't hear anything about nigatsu, from the sounds of it they were talking about cream buns lol)
And yeah there are like no English resources for CE:Overdose.
Plx more punctuation. Had to read the first sentence like 5 times XD
The profile cards didn't give any info, i've read the two examples multiple times and there are no names on it. Unless the game expects me to deduce from preferences & feti who this person is in love with - which is kinda asking too much.
Frankly, the main problem with the trauma system is the lacking UI, not the sheer amount of them. Imagine how faster would it be if the profile page indicated whether you have a required item in your inventory, unlocked enigmas & persons met showed a map marker, filter by trauma type etc. Would make this whole system much less tedious and save a lot of time you spend in menus or running around like an idiot.
Currently there is Profile, artificial age and gender displayed when you are just friends. When you become close friends by completing trauma quest you find out real age of the person, their secret and true personality. Was there something else?
A rank order of 0 to 5
How much relationship boost you got per talk depended on your charm stat which could be raised by stigmas. (You were also allowed to equip 2 stigmas of each type per character and some rarer forms of stigmas came with bonus skills that when equipped your character could use in battle)
The profile cards looked the same essentially just had a space for a trauma mission and reward and a deep trauma and reward.
When you hit rank 1 you got them in messenger and you were able to bookmark anyone in messenger so they would walk towards you at any hub you stood at.
At rank 2 you unlocked the surface truama and until you completed it you could not proceed past rank 2 ( you could not accept their surface trauma quest until they officially told you about it at mid rank 2 even though you can see it on the profile) you were also allowed to invite to the party at rank 2
At rank 3 you unlock the secret of the person.
At rank 4 you unlock the deep trauma (again at mid rank 4 is when they ask for help and it's officially acceptable) once completed you can hit the max rank 5
At max rank 5 the affinity label becomes soul mate and the profile shows both true nature and true age . Also rank 5 soul mate conversations are actually kind of cute best friend talk and really makes it feel like your super close friends and they are comfortable talking to your about anything.
Instead i can complete 100 students in the same time, who give me like +10 atk stigmas and depression, because all i do is making it worse for them.
All the dialogue after you solve their trauma is along the lines of:
- "Yeah, i knew you can't trust anybody, thanks for proving that. I will just deceive my way through the world - everybody does that"
- "She will do just fine. I will use her until i'm bored and then throw away like the garbage she is"
- "There is no such thing as human kindness. Hypocrites and manipulators are just acting this way to gain advantage and control over you"
It gets so edgy, i have to keep a roll of bandages next to me at all times while playing.
Guess i will try to find a friend who has it on his vita, or play it on an emulator smh.
What I don't like is that most items are mostly useless, you have 1k accuracy and new rare item that you find after defeating some high level guards gives you another 20. There is no reason to fight guards trying to unlock those chests. All items that are required for traumas drop from enemies that walk around, I've never found one of those in chests. Guess it is because the part of the system that rewarded extra skills from them was cut.
Still enjoying the game and didn't switch from it yet after 44 hours (usually I try the game for 2-10 hours then switch to the next one).
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say they did the change to give some motivation to taking the Ostinato Musician route, because let's be honest the Musicians are basically stupid evil. But making it seem like everyone in Mobius is some depraved lunatic that is better off separated from society with their desires suppressed gives the Musicians some ground to stand on.
