Questions about saving game progress

Hello all.

Im interested in the saving options of this game:

Autosave?
Close game and saving?
Saving anytime?

Further I like to know can I change the difficulty in general and in mid-game?

There are dedicated save spots that you can save at. No save and quit or autosave.
You can change the difficulty at any time in the options menu.
