There will be another area where you fight with all musicians in several different rooms. After you defeat all but Thorn there will be a portal right near the entrance to final location, that place is the point of no return (you may need to use portal to return to musicians room to complete Thorn). After you enter you decide which side you join.
It seems when I refused it, a cutscene appeared where they go to the roof and see Thorn jumping from the roof .
I didn't continue from there, and just reloaded.
The text goes like this:
Come to the meeting room.
I'm with my friends
It's fine, just come.
Okay / No
It's possible we are thinking of two different time points, but here are things that might matter:
- Eiji is dead
-Everyone in the Go-home except Shogo is starred
-A lot of the musicians are starred except the obvious ones.
I wonder if it has something to do with your answers in Character Episodes. Multiple answers can progress the episode, but different answers can lead to different responses.
Like Kotono for example, I could ask more about her, or just compliment her, where in one case she would give me more story details and the other simply star the episode.

There are good/evil endings which are decided at dialogue before final battles and in good one there are three different movies depending on who died. Ohh, and after completing a game you respawn right before the final battle, so can try the other route without even reloading.
And here is a link where someone writes down how he managed to let someone else die:

Edit: Ok I found out who it was, but I wonder how you would get it.
Anyway, I guess this is for sure not the point of no return. It's just weird that this is the only time I'm given this options as opposed to other instances where I could.
