[Spoilers] Going through the door?
I'm approached by Thorn, and I'm given the choice to go through a door.

I did both options after saving, and it seems going through the door gave me extra gameplay possibilities.

Am I understanding correctly, that going through the door allow me to do two routes at once, as opposed to a single route?

Please answer with minimum amount of spoilers.

You should go through the door. Not going means you follow just club's story. Going means you switch between club and musician's story. At the end (clearly marked final battle) there will be a choice about which one you join for the ending. So by going through you are not losing access to anything, by not going you will skip musicians content and extra club's content, there are two characters in a club which you won't be able to complete 100% without access to musicians.

If you accept her offer you will be able to play the Musician route.

Not accepting her offer locks you into a particular ending.

Are you implying that there are more than 2 endings? I'm not locked into an single ending, but I'm locked out of one of the endings?

Edit: I noticed you edited your answer, so I'm now confused.

Thanks for the answer. Seems like entering the door is superior in every way.

I guess the only question that remains to me, if aiding the musicians spoils plot points (like identity of musicians) before they are normally revealed. So does it?

It does not. Both storylines go together perfectly. Several character stories intersect with each other but they don't spoil, they show the same situation from different angles, they add to each other. Without musician's subroute you won't even know that some characters are connected so will miss some stories. And without musician's subroute I don't think you will know anything about them, they will end up as generic bads. Most of their info and how they change during the game is revealed in their private stories.

Thanks... That honestly should be the default option. Seems like they are punishing you for not choosing the ballsy option.

Initially there was no door. You could only experience club's route. Then they added several characters and created a musician's route to tell their stories. So they leave it in player's hands if they want to experience the original story or updated story. Also there is an achievements which requires completing a game twice, on second run going through the door will just slow you down. So there are reasons when player wants to not go through the door (if they want original game experience or if they are on their second playthrough).

And well, I think Thorn when inviting warns you that if you just want to see one side of the story you don't need to go through the door, but she suggest that you should see both and later decide which one you like more.
