Golden weapons - how to turn off?
Golden weapons looks really bad. Any chance to turn off golden skins?

You can't turn them off, if you are getting annoyed by the colour just toss them and pick up some other guns!

Yes you can remove them, just go to program files, get to bioshock infinite and go to the dlc folder and remove the folder called season pass, it wont affect anything to do with dlc at all, it just removes the goodies you got for buying it.

I tried this and upon loading a saved game the machinegun is still golden

I came across a solution to this on Reddit a while back. As far as I'm aware it gets rid of the golden skins and the bonus infusions and items you find in the Blue Ribbon Club. Plus, it stops that annoying message that pops up everytime you start the game.

Navigate to: steamapps/common/Bioshock Infinite/DLC/SeasonPass
Open the file: SeasonPass_XEngine
In it you will see something resembling this:
[XCore.XGameEngine] +DLCBundleData=(DLCName="AHeadStart",DLCDirName="SeasonPass",UniqueDLCID=X,SteamAppID=XXXXXX)
Cut out 'DLCName="AHeadStart",' and save it somewhere else in case I made a terrible mistake. This appears to get rid of all of the aforementioned stuff.

It only comes into effect once you start a new game. They should've just put an option for that in there. The golden guns are ugly as hell.

Assuming they're electroplated you could use a solution of hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide.

^ Best answer.

Honestly though, is this what the world has come to now? People complaining about the color of a gun? Is it really that bad? Doesn't it absolutely ruin the game for you? You kids today are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spoiled it makes me sick. When i was a kid no one could have ever imagined a game that looks as great as Bioshock Infinte. We had 16 bit games, and games with some of the first 3D tech that gave things a polygon look; we had those games with poor graphics and we were thankful for them and enjoy that crap out of those games. This current generation of gamers? Boo hoo, i don't like the color of the gun, i want to change it...

Here is a product for you: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UVPacgpIQLc/TJ6NohCxmEI/AAAAAAAACSI/wUqUNojQNPI/s1600/no-more-tears.jpg

Gee dude, calm down. I played through Infinite three times with those golden guns and it barely bothered me. I just wanted to play the game without them next time so I figured out how to change them back. It's not a big deal.
Also, I've been playing games since before 16 bit was even a thing and people have been hacking and changing things in games to their liking since the first PC games came out.
No reason to act all high and mighty over such a small thing.

I don't care if the guns were pulsating bright yellow, long as the game in question is 100% bug free. (Ahem, Fallout 3 Ahem!)

I hope you're not implying that Fallout 3 was/is bug free. Because, it's wasn't/isn't. The physics issues alone can make playing the game rather humorous.
