What is 1999 mode?

Basically, whenever you die, you lose 100 Silver Eagles. Have less than 100, and you don't respawn and get booted to menu. But you can just reboot the same file over and over if you do fail, so it's more of a mild inconvience.

-You take more damage
-Enemies deal more damage
-You deal less damage
-Enemies take less damage
-Revival costs 100 Silver Eagles
-If you die with less than that you are quit to the menu, and have to load your last save

Ooh, this sounds kinda cool.

First time I played this game I hated it. Then I said, screw the damned story, just play the game, and the second time I loved it.

Almost ready for a third go here. Think I'll do this. After Thief, of course.
