Although I'd prefer the bright colours and beauty of Columbia, I'd probably get lynched there.
I've grown a bit tired of the art deco culture.
You clearly aren't understanding my question. I said philosophy and ideology aside, purely in terms of aesthetic, which would you choose? It's right there in fine print. Both you and Toucan have missed the mark.
You and [SS]Agenta1999 both have completely failed to understand the question. Sorry to say, I'm not trying to be mean but it's right up there in fine print. Ideology, Philosophy, Politics aside. Everything aside except the aesthetic "style" of the two cities. Purely considering the style, which would you choose?
FFS mate..
Yeah Columbia is just so beautiful it's hard to resist. I still think Rapture is beautiful as well though, it would be a spectacular place to live. But nothing beats living in a kingdom in the clouds haha
Putting all of those things aside, minus aesthetics, defeats the point of even asking such a question because the philosophy and politics are important are important parts of both settings and some of the most interesting things in both games. When I'm asked if I would live in a certain place, the look of it isn't usually one of my primary concerns.
But, I'm sure you can tell which I prefer in terms of style based on my first post.
But in terms of ideology they are kind of the same for me and I would end up the same I would think; at the very bottom of the food chain and crushed by oppression. The difference is of course that in Rapture I would become a unstable and violent junkie while in Colombia I could presumebly take part in an opprising and keep some form of mental stability, so I would still say Colombia as dead revolutionary beats dead junkie.
When I was very young the art deco style was still around but by the time I began to notice it everything was all worn out as the next style came in. And vinyl! It was everywhere but was old and tattered when I became aware of it.
I really enjoy walking around Rapture in the 1st dlc and just looking at everything when it is all new and fresh. Especially the vinyl, which was the new sensation then.
I have spent time living with old people in their old buildings from the Columbia period and there is a lot to be said for it, but I prefer the modern conveniences like hot and cold running water, flush toilets, anesthetics, and antibiotics.
What he says, Rapture for me too
