Optimization for potato pc
I know this game is pressumed to have a decent optimization for low end/potato PC's, I have seen comments on steam and some YouTube videos where people say it runs pretty well on their low end PC's, I too play it on a low hardware pc, but I don't really think and feel it is well optimized, it feels more just like any other game playable on a potato, but nothing special, I have frame drops sometimes and the gameplay sometimes feels stuck in some parts like the encounter with the vox handyman so.....does anybody think the game is well optimized or it's just an overrated feature and if it is well optimized then in which way, graphically?, On the gameplay?, The controls?. I'd like to know your thoughts.

I played through my first time with a $200 laptop. It had 2gb ram, celeron processor, and whatever integrated graphics it had lol. I got a solid 30fps on low settings at 1366x768 reolution, when other comparable games just refused to run. So in my case, compared to what other games were out then, this was very well optimized.

I played it long ago(2016?) on a AMD 6670 DDR5 1GB GPU and an ancient AMD pre 2010 dual core Athlon very budget 2,9GHZ CPU+ 6 GB RAM 1333mhz on 1360x768 with medium-some high settings 30ish fps. That PC was around 200 euro back in 2012....

.I am pretty sure even a Intel HD 4000 (IGPU from 2012) can run it on all low/off on 720p.

You can try to install an app called game booster, and slightly overclock your PC,if it is safe for your config.Install newest drivers, defragments your HDD,turn off background programs.
You can also try to increase your virtual memory at the cost of HDD space if you have very low RAM.

You can also post your PC specs...

Core i5 5300u, intel hd 5500, 8 gb, no dual channel

With that PC you should get around 25-maybe max 30 average fps perfomance with 1280x720 everything on minimum and or off.Turn off Vsync too.
About 25 max fps if on 1366x768.Not much fps difference between minimum and low based on benchmarks.

That is Imo barely playable.
It seems I was wrong minimum spec for this game is for like 20 avg.fps on minimum.....HD 5500 is about 25% stronger than HD 4000.......

Dual channel can usually give perfomance increase of 10-30% depending on game and RAM type,IF there is no other bottleneck.

I played it smoothly on a 2007 laptop with an amd 1.7gh quad core and integrated radeon graphics, 128mb VRAM and 4gb RAM (I couldn't even find specs online with model number because its so old), anything from the past decade should be able to "run" the game depending on your standards which shouldn't be very high if you're asking if a potato could run it.

Old post but whatever. I played this when it first came out on Xbox but never got to finish it. I've had the bundle for a good while now and just started Infinite again tonight. As old as this game is, I'm pretty shocked that I'm getting ANY FPS drops at ALL, yet I am. Highest settings and MOSTLY 60 FPS but briefly going down to 50 and even as low as 35 :steamfacepalm: maybe it's Windows 10? No clue.

Must be your cpu, I had no trouble getting 144 fps whole time with a 2070 and i7-10750h which is weird considering when I check them online they score essentially the same, is there enough power getting to your hardware otherwise its probably a windows issue.

I don't have this issue with most games much newer than this one, so I'm not sure. Haven't gotten very far at all yet so I'm wondering if it's just the certain part of the game in the beginning?

Its gotta be your CPU. Im running a 2070S at 2k with a Ryzen 7 5800x and having zero issues.

If you have a GPU capable of VULKAN, definitely given DXVK Async a go and see if that improved your experience in any way.
