Experience & Ingredient points. What generates them ?

Does your chef have to be working to get Experience points? And what generates ingredient points?

Staff Members gain XP completing tasks for their job, while you can get both Skill and Ingredient points completing the Tasks listed in the Tasks menu, it's one of the big red buttons on the bottom area of the screen!
