Would still be fun to see a unit consisting of fiddlers on a roof, though. Trust me, Norwegian fiddle music can scare off anyone!
Bjorn, I'm seeing the Vikings in a whole new way...
(Did you know that the Scottish Bagpipes are officially classified as a weapon of war?)
Haha I did not! See, they know what they're doing!
One of the dances that accompany Norwegian 'hardingfele' (fele = fiddle) music is to jump up and kick off a hat on top of a pole that someone holds high in the air.
I'm picturing scottish bagpipers fighting viking fiddlers trying to kick their hats off now...
TW Remaster: Gameplay tips for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (Did you know? You can ignore Senate Missions???), some of which make zero sense like the quote about fiddles, the devs don't even know that the instrument didn't exist back then.
They still have the famous quotes from the original and the ‘fiddle’ tip is a reference to a well known expression/saying which originated from stories of Nero and implies someone not dealing with a problem or situation well. But whatever.
I should tell you that Scottish Bagpipers, wearing kilts, have a secondary weapon. Most people think it's the Skean Dhu (knife in the sock) but actually it's the fact that a true Scot doesn't wear underpants with a kilt...
...so if the sound of the bagpipes doesn't defeat your high-kicking Norwegian fiddlers, they just lift their skirts...0-0
It struck me that when I first searched this forum to see if others had asked about the fiddles, I found a few threads where people had used 'fiddle around with settings' and similar, so what you say makes sense...
There is material for a few Monty Python segments here...
