You just need to head to the Rome forum to hear them (myself included)

I bought the game back in the day, but it was on a old pc I used to have, and when it broke down, I lost the game; not Steam bought.
When I got my new PC, I bought Napoleon TW, and got lost in that for years.
Finally decided to buy Rome TW again. Bought the Remastered. I haven't played it for more than an hour so far. But I do have some first impressions.
1) Campaign Map sucks. I hate it. It does look very cartoonish. The old map was better than this. The campaign map from Napoleon is the kind of map I would have preferred; graphics wise. The new map makes the game feel like a cheap SIM.
I mean, it looks like the prototype for "Rome: TW", not an advancement to the original. Like something that came out in early 2000's.
2) I don't like the new User Interface. Like I said, it's been 7 years since I played Rome, so maybe there's some things that I forgot. But, in my mind, the old UI was better than this new one. I'm squinting to read the text. It feels like it takes me longer to find what I'm looking for in my settlements. The old UI felt much simpler to me and user friendly.
When I owned the original Rome TW, I played the hell out of it. So I am a fan!
But, so far, 1st impressions, I don't like the changes in the Remastered version.
Then, a few years ago, "AOE1: Definitive Edition" and AOE2 Def. Ed. came out. AOE1:DE used the AOE1 HD engine, so it doesn't have the ambient sounds. The AOE DE graphics are much much better, but AOE1:DE is not as good as AOE1 DE in some respects. The game designers apparently were planning to do more work on AOE1DE than they finished. For instance, AOE1 has a map/artwork area in the instruction screen. However, AOE1:DE does not allow you to add pictures/maps/art to your instructions. There is a box in the Editor for the player to upload the maps/art, but the Editor doesn't successfully upload the maps/art. A game designer told me that the problem is that the game programming lacks the "strings" to connect the player's map files to the scenario files. So far the worst aspect when I played AOE1:DE a year ago was how the Multiplayer system kept crashing/desyncing when I had a lot of players (like 8) in a room.
in old you could list through the contruction finished settlements and queue up new buildings with ease, new one is much more annoying
After turn 94 the campaign crashes, it cannot get to turn 95.
Also whennever I try to take the last lombardi settlement, or destroy the lombardi the game crashes, either directly or after the end turn. So I suspect that seems to be the problem.
I had a similar problme earlier in my campaign where the WRE rebels only had their faction leader left, and whennever I tried to kill him in battle the game would crash after the end turn.
I somehow solved this issue by letting one of my cities rebel and retaking it, which seemed to fix that particular problem, as I was then able to kill that particular faction leader.
But this time with the lombardi I don't really see how I can overcome this bug. If anyone has some valuable advice it would be welcomed.
It is not the first time I have had campaign crashing issues with rome total war remastered. It is really fustrating, a remastered version should be more stable than the original, not less.
@Anderson, are you kidding? In original version my generals would talk for entire minutes at a time, calling the gauls bastards and insulting Hannibles mother while also stating how lonely and abandoned the enemy is by daring to show up without re-enforcements. The occassional general then went on the rant about hats, owls and their combined consiracy to ruin his battle plans (something along those lines) LOL. I unno about anyone else, but I damn near pissed myself the first time I heard these glorious speeches.
Edit: OIne thing the remastered version got rid of that kinda irks me is the advisor voice overs. I wonder if they're going to replace them eventually to accommodate the new layout.
This remaster is really good. You can disable pretty much all of the new remaster features and just play the game as the original, but with improved graphics.
However, all of the new features are actually good.
