Well the units apperently get dirty in bad weather now, so maybe. But the textures are still pretty basic so I do not really see much point in spending time added pixelated gore

There was a "blood splatter" effect mod for projectiles for the original (i think?)

Yeah Rome 1 had some pink mist. It just makes sense to have some form of blood considering they are useing short sweords, ballista, arrows and what not.
