Sure have, awesome city builder. I should have been more specific and said war games. Caeser's focus isn't really on combat or fighting.
Check out the Europa Barbarborum 2 mod for Medieval 2 Total War!
This goes for tv shows and movies too. Very few good depictions/experiences in ancient Rome.
Only Roman games I ever enjoyed was Caesar III (Caesar IV is garbage) and Rome: Total War. Ryse: Son of Rome was a ridiculous fantasy-esque version of Rome and the brief segment you get to go to Rome in AC: Origins was nonsense. I would like an Assassin's Creed-esque (without the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of AC) or Kingdom Come: Deliverance-eqsue game set in Rome with proper RPG elements (no fantasy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, no overhead health bars, no ridiculous player movements), including: extremely detailed dialogue options that can greatly change the outcome of each situation and the ending, lots of customisation of the character and associated items, armor and weapons. And I want it set in Rome's prime during the Empire after the construction of its major monuments like the Collosseum.
Also would love a Caesar V that doesn't run like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or look disgusting (No 3D please).
Don't get your hopes up, it's terrible for rebuilding the roman empire and limits expansionism and Paradox has decided to stop developing it.
There were a couple 3D roman city builders which competed with Caesar IV like Glory of Rome, Imperium Romanum and Grand Ages but they were relatively simple and not as good as Caesar III
Funnily enough, RTW was used in a TV game show in the UK between 2003 and 2005 and again in 2016. Time Commanders is what it was called and the game was a year from release when the TV show launched, the focus was on the battles, so the base building, map and all that other stuff wasn't used. it was purely on planning an attack on an enemy that was already assembled and using those units to try win the match.
I dunno, I thought Life of Brian was pretty good :D
