I do think cosmetic mods shouldn't be encumbered though. 'Achievements approved',?
No, it wasn't lol. The original is riddled with exploits and ways to cheese the AI. Go watch a speedrun on youtube, people are beating short campaigns in 2-3 minutes with no mods/console commands. Or go watch LegendofTotalWar cheese the battles and win against "impossible" odds. This doesn't make it any less of a great game tho, but i see a lot of people talking like it was harder than later TW games and that's just not true.
Competitive as in MP/online.
I know Legend very well from old days, thanks.
Multiplayer is not really a reason to disable achievements for playing modded campaigns tho. According to CA most players don't even play multiplayer so the decision makes even less sense.
Well, I am totally ok without receiving any achievements when I use mods.
I do not see the problem....
You trade cards a lot or something?
i mean, seriously? you want achivements? go for them, you want to have fun? use mods, what prevent player from using a mod that make him overpowered and gain achivements?
would be better if there was achivement like superman where if you use a cheat you get an achivement that block all the achivements from triggering (via the in game exsisting cheats).
Often wehn modders make mods we have to use a cheat mod toned down. To see how mods work with testing.
I always do, anyway. Personally, Achievements do not mean much to me. For card players and traders, maybe so.
If you know how to mod you can circumnavigate the system. So the options are simple. You put in the effort or do not get any achievements, as it should be for every game.
^Love the superman idea, should do that on all games. :)
I think just playing campaigns without mods is fine.
CA says though, build No., then Modded. Even if not mods active.
And no Console commands, ever, during a campaign.
There! Hasve your achievements!
(Unit texture mods only should be exempted.)
