"Candidate for adoption!"

So... Has this happened to anyone else? I'd get a candidate for adoption turn up, because i was conquering faster than i was raising generals. But then after accepting, the candidate died on the same turn, and never joined my force. The first time it occured, i wrote it off, since i didn't notice the candidate for adoption, and just bribed a pontic general into my army. But then it happened twice more, and trying to adopt these guys into my family was the first thing i did that turn. Did this happen in the original too? Because i don't remember it happening.

Yes it was in the original version, though I’ve noticed it has a much higher fail rate than before

It never happened to me in the original. But i also only rarely got an adoption, even when i had five cities without governors. Maybe the adoption event rate was raised in tandem with the failure rate?

Check the announcements first thing each turn.

IT does seemy a bit buggy.

If you check the announcements >FIRST< each turn it seems to work. But if you run any battle first, which in conqueror adrenaline you might, then its a fail. It seemed odd that it might not have even been playing a battle anywhere near a city where the adoptives pop in. At first I thought it was that I had fought where the adoptive would be but the dont spawn in field armies but in towns.

In the old game they’d spawn in the town in the same territory as the character adopting them. If that character was outside your territory, then they’d spawn in your capital city.
