Pressing R to speed up animations

Is there any way to permanently speed up animations on campaign map? I have to keep pressing R every turn, kind of annoying

You can control the map movement speed with your mouse now, left to make the specific animation faster, right to toggle all animations.

even the animations cannot be all sped up, the diplomat still hands the scroll for 2 hours and it cannot be skipped or made faster. I mean how the hell do they playtest those games, it literally took me 30 seconds to get annoyed by both the unit speed and the animations on the campaign map...

I am not sure if it resets after a battle, but surely it does after reloading. After that I need to right click again to toggle all animations...

I am happy to ignore merchant movements via settings, I wish they include that for diplomats too. I really do not need to watch them move around.

One solution is to just disable the "Show AI moves" checkbox (and the "Show Merchant moves" checkbox too). Its not nice because you have to search for enemy armies that attacked you, but better than watching the AI diplomats and spies.
