You can beat most armies with just 2 generals squishing each unit 1 at a time.
it’s been a few years since I played Rome 1
While that is true, I don’t remember that working with charging a phalanx head on, you would have to hit them in the flank or rear to negate their spears.
It’s not made up, which is why I was asking if anyone else had experienced this, it may have been a fluke I don’t know.
Unit size was on Large, and I expected my braces phalanx to deal with them but the bodyguard ran through them like they were nothing.
Are you certain your hoplites were formed in phalanx with the spears forward? With the new UI and all maybe they weren't actually in phalanx mode when you thought they were? Oh man I sure hope cavalry hasn't been buffed...... Yikes if so..... Because I always preferred infantry stacks....
I like how you assume im lying without any proof or evidence to prove otherwise.
I just did a simple test on custom battle and as a roman bodyguard of 24 i charged straight into greek hoplites
