Open source => magic
You never coded if you dont know how hard is modify closed source code,a and open source documented code!!
how old are you 10?
You *are absolutely obsessed with this idea aren't you. It doesn't matter how many times it's explained to you.
OK, ignoring all that (as you have), why would a company that makes profit hand out its own codebase to *the entire planet* for free. That makes zero sense.
That would no longer be about "modding the game", you'd be making a new game, with their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ code!
The question is how stupid are you?
In this reality, modders don't have the ability to access the source code and thus have no ability to work with it.
Exactly, I'm the one that's 10 years old while you're the one acting like you're 10 years old.
Lick SAGA corporate aass more please you doing well...
What's the matter, did you spend all of your welfare already? That's a shame, perhaps stay away from those liquor stores next time!
Oh? I was expected to bring arguments against your non-argumentative personal attacks?
Bethesda is even worse than CA though... seems like a bad example of a company.
Skyrim REMASTER WAS FREE,
so Bethesda is better in this case unfortunately
The difference between the Skyrim Remaster and the original is much smaller. When you look at the graphics from the two versions side by side, there is barely any difference. Oddly, in most of the screenshots the original looks BETTER than the Remaster... Even the texture quality looks horrible in the Remaster. The only significant improvement seems to be water shaders. Just look at it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Zk1KJtG3dM
In Rome 1, on the other hand, a lot of graphics have been completely remade. If you put the two versions next to each other, the Remaster is an extreme improvement. This, combined with the engine improvements and new features, warrants the (cheap) price. The fact that it was free doesn't make Bethesda a better company, by far. Bethesda has a very bad reputation.
Like someone else said, that doesn't look like all it is.
and why do you expect them to open source the code they either made themselves or bought from someone else for the purpose of making money off of it?
Don't lie now, this isn't about rightous freedoms or corporate bullying, you just want something in return for nothing.
If it turns out as you say it does, this company is gunna go out of business fast and won't be welcome in the steam community. They're messing with the much loved classic this time with a huge fanbase. Arguably bigger than any other game of the same genre and time setting.
If you're too poor to buy it now or you can't get the 50% off, then just wait a month or two after release, when it's had the absolute crap reviewed out of it, one way or another. The smart people who can't get the 50% off will do exactly that and not one second sooner because the refund window means absolutely nothing in games like this that are meant to be played for weeks at a time.
Most of your arguments just seem childish. If you don't like what they're selling or you don't like the price then just find another offer you do like.
