Does Bioshock 2 now have 360 controller support?
Never expected to see 360 controller support for this game. The keyboard just ruined it for me.

Somebody tell me it's true.

Yes, it now has Xbox 360 controller support. There is an option in the menu to enable it, and I can personally confirm that it works.

Oh... my... god.

Yeah, I was surprised, too.

I only tried single-player, though. (Can't speak to multi-player, since I don't have any interest in Bioshock MP.)

I pre-ordered Bioshock 2, and when I unlocked it, day one, I could not believe that the controller wasn't supported.

At the 2K forums we started a massive petetion (remember that), but 2K finally just said no.

Okay, so a pretty damned good reason to return to the game then. I got about thrree-quarters of the way through before another game drew my attention - but honestly, looking back I'd have to say Bioshock 2 was better than Infinite, which I hated.

Downloading now.

Also, what the hell is Minerva's Den? Has this always been available?

It's a highly regarded DLC pack. Some people think it is better than the base game...

"Minerva's Den is an all-new single-player focused downloadable game add-on for BioShock 2 that introduces new characters, locations and mystery to the world of Rapture."

Just buy Pinnacle or something along those lines. You'll spend $10-$20 but know you'll always have controller support for anything.

Tried both SP and MP with controller support and both modes work perfectly. A little tip: if you're playing with a controller and get tired of seeing the keyboard commands displayed in-game instead of the 360 buttons (e.g. "press F" instead of "press A"), you can change that through the options menu. Just go to the Controls menu and change the option for using 360 controller to ON.

You can actually play the game with a 360 controller whether you change it to On or Off, it's just that if you leave it off, all button commands in the game will be shown as keyboard controls.

Why do you not want to play using a keyboard? Isn't that why you play PC games :-/ That and the graphics plus maybe mods.

Yes, it's true as I played it with my wired 360 pad this morning and it worked perfectly. No-one is more surprised at its inclusion now than me because I was one of the people screaming out for controller support on the 2K forum when it was released. I played the first game on the PC to completion with the controller so the sequel not supporting it seemed a bizarre decision.

In fact, the lack of controller support is what made me buy the 360 version and I then played the game to completion as I just didn't like the mouse/keyboard controls. Better late than never, I guess, but if it could be included now then why wasn't it implemented when it was released? Lazy developers?

Good tip because it caught me out initially as I assumed it switched between the controller and mouse/keyboard automatically depending on which you used. It was only when I checked the menu options that I released the Xbox 360 controller option was set to off even though I was actually playing the game with the pad at that point.

Heard about the support via Kotaku and immediately purchased it. Had it on my crapbox but haven't played it since I got my gaming PC. Can't wait to play this again.
