My game keeps crashing with a runtime error/fatal application exit in DX12 or gets a black screen in DX11 when I go down the stairs to the room with the red gem box IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT!

My new Ryzen based setup was frequently crashing in a few programs. RE2 was by far the worst, and would usually crash with Fatal Application Exit / DirectX related error with 30 seconds of playing
stable, and everything overall seemed ok, certain 3D applications were not.

I'm trying to get resident evil 2 running again. Every time I launch the game it crashes, with a message "re2.exe - Fatal Application Exit". I tried updating it, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling

I was having the "Fatal Application Exit" message and crash as well in game. I switched from DX11 to DX12 in the graphics menu and it seemed to have solved my issued. Even though DX12 is a hot mess
