How pervasive is Mr. X?

Playing for the first time, and I just encountered him for the first time as well.

From then on, is the game about evading him every 3-5 minutes or not?

I just got the second key for the keyboard in the first floor armoury, As I was making my way there, he appeared, but I evaded him, only to go in the armoury while triggering a licker nearby. I spent I don't know how long waiting for him to go away, but he didn't and the licker as soon as I got out the door.

I just used to mod and removed him. I hate undying enemies, but i also play with VR mod and evading him was little too difficult and he ruined the game. I simply could not evade him at all with VR.

After the police station, you will meet him at certain points, but these will be fleeting encounters.

you will have to get the electronic components while he pursues you then you are good by the time you get to the parking lot again

spoiler on what you have to do (if you really must know):
-take the first package (depending on character run)
-get unique key (leon janitor room, claire private collectors room)
-go too floor 1 to open heart / club door to get the tool
-use the tool in the library to move bookshelfs
-go to the clock tower to get the 2nd package
-go to the jail / cheifs office and do the electric puzzle
-if jail cell (leon) be prepated to run past mr x into the parking lot so ada runs him over with a truck
-optionally go to the boiler room and get the button for the second weapon storage button

this section will have you play around mr X a bit to change the pace of the game and unless you mod him away (because people cant accept a challenge for some reason) then you need to learn how to play around him

On an average first totally blind run with no help of guides, the Tyrant is usually there for about 30–90 minutes, depending on how fast you got the hang of the game's combat, your inventory management skills, and a modicum of luck finding the key items and remembering where to use them.
After that, only predetermined mini "chase" sequences.
Its total screen presence in the scenario where it is the most prevalent is maybe one-tenth of the total game time.

By the way, even on hardcore mode, you can outwalk it. No, not kidding, if you keep walking forward in a straight line without ever stopping, it can never hurt you in any way.

If you know when he's going to spawn in A scenario, you can do absolutely everything before needing the jack to reach the third floor and only have to deal with Mr. X for a few minutes.

If you activate him early, all you need to know is that he works on both sound and line of sight. He also can't catch you if you're running since your running speed is faster than his walking speed.

He can't enter save rooms, or some critical puzzle rooms either.

So, the game is too hard for you because of Mr.X. Your solution is to come on here and complain. when in reality, you could easily solve this problem of yours by doing the following:
