how do i beat the first boss with literally nothing?

You can beat the boss with the resources in the arena on any difficulty, except for Claire B hardcore. However, it needs headshots.
If you bring a knife, it is a lot easier though, especially if you uncap the framerate.

Shoot zombie on the legs and knife them while they are crawling on the ground? Prioritise cutting their legs with your knife. If they are still alive, cut their arms.
Some zombies won't walk pass certain doors, so use that door as a shield then use your knife.
When facing lickers, try to avoid combat, unless they are just sitting on the ceiling.

Straight up terrible advice lol, why would you waste the limited knife durability on normal zombies? Double stupid because you say to blow out their knees first which already essentially nuetralizes that zombie

When my knife was about to break, I stop using them. And save those knifes for that sewer G monster . When the G monster grab me, I'd just equip that nearly broken knife and just walked past those mutants.

Once the zombie is crawling, you can walk past them. But I am playing on normal, so I prefer to kill all zombies. I did beat the game on hardcore once, but I prefer replaying the game on normal because it is more relaxing.

EDIT: oh I can't use knife on the first boss fight because I am playing on 60fps.

I mean do you boo but when a dude says he doesn't even have anything by the time they reach the first boss I think it'd be better try and tell them to avoid wasting resources. I mean if you did want to kill all the zombies (for some reason) you'd be much better off just using the shotgun and it's abundant ammo

Because even if you aren't running 120 fps you can still use the knife to great effect on the bosses, before I learned the difference that fps makes I was still doing the knife strat on g1 to at least mostly kill him (like one knife and a handful of pistol shots does the trick)

Yeah when OP said that the game doesn't give OP resources that he need.

With shotgun, I think it is just my old habit playing classic RE, when I tend to save my shotgun ammo for 'later' stage (for example against hunter, licker, crimson head, or multiple zombies, etc). Especially in RE1 remake where I use knife a lot to bring down zombies.

I tried knife on first boss but it didn't work (and I am too lazy to check youtube guides). So just stick to the old habit, using guns for bosses.

Finished the end boss in 1 go (Super Tyrant), I had like 4 first aid sprays and 2 mixed herbs by that fight on standard and used 2 of them.

I play at 120 FPS capped, but could unlock the FPS and easily hold over 200 FPS everywhere, the only advantage is the knife, I play with a controller.

unlock the fps and use the knife you find in the arena. the knife's damage is tied to the framerate. higher fps more damage. i think theres a grenade in the arena as well. other than that go look for some ammo around the station before the fight.

There is no knife in the arena, but there are 3 knifes you can get prior to the fight (Assuming this is the A run, you can get way more stuff in the B run)
1 is given to you by marvin, 1 is in the library by some dead body, and 1 is the safety deposit room (you need to place a button in the 3 slot, code is 103)
