Anyone else HATE seeing glowing eyes and pretty color zombies?
So, I love the game, 10/10 for me, but with this extra content, something that jumped out immediately were the poison zombies with the glowing eyes and purple clouds around them.

I've skipped Kendo, I'll do that one last. Not sure if all of the scenarios have these kind of variants, but for me it just ruins the atmosphere of RE. It feels more like COD zombies, or like an arcade shooter. I was wondering if other people have a similar reaction to the glowing eyes, pretty color clouds approach to zombies?

I haven't tried the DLC yet but from what I've seen on the screenshots I agree with you OP, it's a terrible design choice, especially given how gritty the design of all other monsters is.

I really wanted a poison zombie in the main campaign, but if this is how they look - I don't want them.

Looks like some fantasy magic spell around them. And I love fantasy magic, but there's a time and a place for everything.

I haven't gotten to those yet, but in the Katherine one thus far at least there's some new Zombie enemies that have their own unique model.
Just so you know it isn't like a spoiler, they are right at the start of Kendo's mission.
I don't mind the ones in Katherine's they look alright.

Yeah fantasy magic is a good description. It just doesn't fit with the game. I mean it's not a super big deal, it's free DLC for one of my favorite games of all time, but it's just such a complete immersion breaker for me.

given that modding for the game is going relatively strong, here's hope someone can remove the effect or even outright replace the models.

Honestly I'd rather have regular zombie models without ANY indication of being poisonous so that it's an unpleasant surprise, rather than ruin the otherwise amazing visual experience with glowing purple haze.

Yeah, since when have there been things with glowing eyes in Resident Evil.

The DLC are just arcade game modes, they're not meant to be taken seriously.

I got excited when the police radio said they mutated upon death, I thought they'd evolve into something else, but instead they just fart out a cloud of purple gas when dying, it's kinda disappointing

Doesn't bother me. The DLCs are an extra mode for fun and challenge, not survival horror mode. That's why the music is all funky and not spooky, just don't take everything so seriously and enjoy it for what it is.
I wouldn't mind it as much if I didn't want poison zombies in the default campaign. I've had 3 runs and in none of them did I ever need a blue herb

I didn't know purple was a pretty color, especially deep royal purple such as the one they're using here. This shade is actually quite morbid, I think.

I guess the complaint would make sense if they used any shade of pink. That's the happiest color I can think of. But then, that wouldn't fit the poison theme, which is often associated with greens, purples, and in RE2's case, blues.

I didn't mind them too much. The colour does well to make them a warning and I'd see it pretty fair if the side effect was that they got a fluorescent quality of sort.

Kendo have poisonous zombie , the girl have pale zombie ( looking like regenerados to me ) and the unknown U.S.S have armored zombie

Yeah, I saw Katherine's, they were fine. Pretty creepy actually.

Yeah, I tried to make it clear that I recognize it's free DLC for my favorite game, I just hate the glowing eyes, more than the pretty colors.

Really? Purple is like the 4th most comforting color to humans or some such nonsense. 6th in use for weddings and 17th for use at funerals, so it seems like many people (like the Easter bunny) disagree on the grimness of the color purple :)

They're not even canon

I know, it's hard to explain, I guess. It doesn't "ruin the series" or "ruin the game" for me, it's just out of place in an RE game and certainly metered my excitement for the extra scenarios.
Like I said it's not a big huge deal, I am really just curious if anybody else just didn't like seeing it.
