Zombie HP bars
Are zombies supposed to take 6-12 shots to the head? Cause I'm dying for ammo and zombies are just tanking shots like no other RE game ever.

They're really resilient. A good trick, I find, is to shoot one of their legs out, or both feet, and use your knife when they're downed. Avoiding them also works, and it's made easier if you remove a limb or two.

Okay, it's just crazy how much ammo I'm dumping into them. Dealing with the large crawling fleshy guys is impossible because I don't have the thirty bullets needed for it cause I've recently dumped twenty-four bullets into TWO zombies

there's datamining that shows each specific zombie has set HP values and some are way higher

Like how much were the values different from each other? Some seem to have like 3x the health compared to others.

This is a dymanic harder game, when you playing good, it will become harder, if you playing just like a noobs, it will be very easy.
so there are not fixed HP for zombie, even every1's head is not same, so you can't shoot this zombie with 1 ammo head shoot, then you can't get it for all zombie.

Don't shoot those things. Those things that crawl with the tongues and walk on walls/roofs are called Lickers. They are blind and you can literally just walk and they wont hear you right past them (just don't physically bump into them) and you can pass them even in the hallway next to u on the ground. They don't go into other rooms, either, and the one on 1f near west office doesn't go up the stairs at all.

The game is about knowing your routes, and managing your resources. You aren't really intended to kill them all tho you totally can if you try. You are supposed to clear out frequented routes and leave the ones in the others. Plan your routes. Board up windows to prevent more appearing in those frequented routes on first floor. Alternatively, if you get good enough just shoot them to stagger in the leg and run past them (1-2 bullets).

Kneecapping and removing their arms is better than killing them. Its a survival horror, not an action shooter.

yes, it was that sort of redic differences https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/comments/am41wn/fact_finding_how_zombie_hp_works/

The way the game handles damage is highly dynamic in order to keep your resources at a consistent level. But generally, yes, enemies can be quite tanky. There are things you can do to optimize though.

- Don't bother killing enemies that won't get in your way later. Stagger them and avoid them, get what you need, then leave. If the area is wide enough, removing their legs can also turn them into non-threats

- Allowing your crosshair to focus all the way causes your shots to do more damage and crit more often.

- Once they're down, finishing them off with the knife is an effective way to kill zombies while conserving ammo.

A tool that can see the health values of the enemies looks promising.

Headshots don't do bonus damage btw, the only benefit to headshots is the chance to crit. Shoot the legs out instead.

It is different compared to the classic. There, you needed around 5-10 body shots to make them stammer backwards or buckle, but they just kept coming relentlessly until you dished out enough damage.
Here, you can make them flinch or even collapse in 1-3 hits, but actually killing them can need up to 20 handgun bullets on highest difficulty and non-head shots.

So, whereas the old one had lower ammo and wanted you to bait the zombies and run around them, this one expects you to shoot them until they stammer or fall, then run past.
Also, Leon's shotgun usually does one-hit kills with direct headshots, Claire on the other hand can severe any limbs with 3-6 SMG bullets (or one-shot them in the head with her magnum bullets).

I remember the old game having more ammo actually (handgun drops always gave 15 iirc) and not so many shots required to knock a zombie down or flinch. Lickers were much weaker early in until they got a strength boost in the labs, and the shotgun got a massive nerf in the new RE2. You'd be able to decap three zombies with a single blast if you got positioned just right.
