Original VS Remake soundtrack
I saw people saying that the original soundtrack won't fit well with this remake but I disagree. I started playing the game with the new track and I had to switch to the original cause either there was no music or the ones that played were forgettable. Even the main hall, and save room were generic ambient sounds and once they were over you never heard them again. After switching to the Original music the game got much more enjoyable. Opinions?

The new one is decent as well, once you get used to it and leave behind any preconceptions of what an RE2 game should sound like.

I went in with zero preconceptions since I never played the original, and I still vastly prefer the original soundtrack. The new one is very generic and overly subdued. The original has an atmospheric and classic feel to it. Every game I have it on.

For the main story, the original soundtrack is better.
But the 4th survivor and ghost stories soundtracks are amazing in the remake, Kendo's theme is probably my favorite RE song ever.

I just listen to other music in the background. As i usually do when i play. The soundtrack in the remake is really forgettable/non-present.

original all the way.
it was almost boring, hardly non existent with the remake soundtrack. original gave everything more life and made things just creepier.

The only aspect in which I think the remake soundtrack is better is Mr X's theme. It's fitting and it also clues you in on how aggroed he actually is.
I like the original MR.X theme better.

the remake soundtrack? there is one? besides mr X theme and some off-story's like hunk and kendo it is nearly absent

while the original had some memorable ones, the marshalling yard second half being one of the best ambient soundtracks of all games imo

Never played the original game, but I stayed on the classic soundtrack midway through my first playthrough. I played the game twice more, occasionally trying the new soundtrack, but switching back to classic almost immediately. This modern ambient stuff is just so dull and tuneless.

There's none if you choose OST in RE2 2019, though. There is some "ominous" tune playing whenever he appears in RE2 1998, but this would really ony fit a slow-walking Mr.X, so I think it's ok they left that out. Or did you mean the "super-tyrant" theme?
He does have a theme when he appears in his base form, the same theme that plays in the original. Check it out.
