RE3 is almost a new interpretation and it felt shorter with many previous location cut (The park, the cemetery, the tower clock missing). I didn't mind it though, I just wish it was longer.
RE3 original is what got me into RE and after seeing its announcement after RE2 I got very excited. While it's not terrible, I'm overall disappointed.
Having said that playing it just makes me want to boot my PS1 version for the more complete story.
Speaking of Story. They removed the Live Choices because they wanted the Story to be more "consistent". I was like "WHAT?"
Apart from minor plot points / game changes, the Story stays the same. The only exception I can think of, is if you enter the Dead Factory by jumping of the brigde. Once you grab the Radar you get the choice to shoot down Nikolai or try to negoiate with him, where he flies away. Still a minor change imo but oh well.
Neither game shows Ada getting infected by tyrant like the old version in which she cured herself in 4/5.
And more.
Yes, we moved trough the four generations of consoles to get more linear and kinda more limited game than the original RE3.
That is sadly a general theme for many games and genres. It got even so bad at times, that they state the most obvious things, almost as they doubt the intelligence / common sense of their customers and fanbase.
"Oh, a big scary monster is in front of me. I wonder what I should do now ......?"
- New Objective: Kill the big scary Monster-
"Thank you game. I never thought about that"
You know all those fashion trends and stuff? It sure feels like refusing to use one's brain is one of them.
Then they would despair on old PS1 Games like Silent Hill´s Piano Riddle or Resident Evil 1 when mixing V-Jolt. And in both cases you even get small hints, the rest is just logical thinking.
Then again, in this day and age you would be called an ist and phobe for expecting logical thinking especially from those snowflakes on Social media.
