Morgue zombies too bullet spongy?
I mean, I'm aware most zombies in Resident Evil 2 are bullet spongy, but it seems like the morgue zombies in particular are more bullet spongy than the rest. Apart from the few times their heads immediately explode from a headshot, they'll most of the time require 10-15 rounds to go down, and that's assuming they don't decide to get back up anyway. I know this game's "Adaptive difficulty" plays a role, but it seems like the morgue zombies are the outliers.

Yes, they are. Actually every enemy in the game has a set amount of HP, what adaptive difficulty does is reduce the damage you do by a percentage. The one sitting by the morgue door has one of the highest HP as a zombie, 1050hp if I remember correctly. In contrast, the flaming zombie Claire meets before G4 only has 50hp and the bunch of zombies Leon meets after Super Tyrant only has 1hp each.

You don't need to kill the zombies in there. The one guarding the door is slow enough for you to safely run out after grabbing the diamond key.

Don't kill them, just kneecap them. You will be perpetually out of ammo if you go for headshots. Slash the crawlers to death in areas you will revisit later.

The one on the slab has pretty standard health. The one sitting next to the doorway is indeed one of the few zombies that have 1190 HP. Then again, he will only wake up if you pick up the key (or reveal it in the 2nd scenario), so you can easily knife him to death once you enter. Or avoid him entirely as it is easy to pick up the key and leave before his standing-up animation finishes.

Nah it's random. Any zombie in the game can die from anywhere ranging from one single head shot to 15+. There are no difference between any zombie in any area.

There are plenty of differences, especially in health. Zombie health ranges from 100 HP to 1190, and the average is around 800. However, all zombies have pre-set health and base aggression values.

I don't know where you get these numbers from. I've had both morgue zombies dying from a single headshot as well as dying from several in different playthroughs.

It is not difficult to see enemy health. There are at least three tools that allow it. The RE2SRT is probably the simplest.
