You know what's awesome about making a game and then releasing a sequel?
MAKING SURE THE FIRST GAME WORKED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!

That is a problem with your end, nobody ever had anything similar according to a Steam and reddit search.
The most likely explanation is that you have a faulty download, try a file validation. Also, since the game needs to check the Steam repository and REnet at least once, make sure it is not blocked by your firewall.

it's probably just the steam overlay bug. disable it.

I get it all the time I chat with friends while playing re2. When it does happen to me, I just reopen the steam overlay UI and click on a friends chat window and it's fixed. Not a big deal.

Dude that's a bull load of flak there. Try asking for advice or post a bug for a possible solution.

Instead of whining like a zombie you could try describing the issue at hand. Would make it easier for people/support to help you.

Game works for the absolute majority here. So describe will ya, and people will try to help. <loads an acid round>

Change config.ini and default config.ini where it says directx11 to directx12. Thats solved my problem at least on this game but I still fighting to execute RE7 without crashing on startup
