Do not get the three round burst for the Matilda and I would avoid the magnum completely. Its another slot plus ammo and Leon's shotgun is more than capable to make it to endgame.
Some people recommend playing on Assisted difficulty as you can regenerate your health up to caution so less health is needed but if you know the game well enough, you can do it on standard.
Then again, Assisted is the best difficulty for it since you automatically regenerate health RE7 style, so not like it matters. You can breeze through the game regardless as long as you remember to not pick up items you do not want to use in the near future.
You should have 5 free grids in order to solve two puzzles. To get all electric parts in one go, and to pick up chess pieces and the flamethrower.
