Game doesn't start
Game doesn't start
every time I want to start the game I get the following message

C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ RESIDENT EVIL 2BIOHAZARD REZ \ re2.exe
"d. \\ reegine \ reegine \ gitroot \ runtime \\ modules \\ render \\ os \\ renderdevicedx11.cpp" 4216 present failed.HRESULT = 0x8876017c,

I bought the game yesterday and unfortunately it doesn't work

Please help

0x8876017c is an out of video memory error. Try updating your video card driver, or rolling it back to a previous version if you've recently updated it.

I reset the graphics driver there is the same error new driver made no success

I have a similar problem but mine says

D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2\re2.exe
"d:\\reengine\\reengine\\gitroot\\runtime\\modules\\render\\os\\renderdevicedx11.cpp" 1641 D3D11 create device faild.(HRESULT:887a0004)

And how do I reset graphics drivers if, I need to do that?

I reset my graphics drivers but still the game does not work. So I don't think the graphics drivers are the problem.

I'm hoping it's not my NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 that is the problem. I'm hoping the problem will be easy to solve and not a major headache.

Make sure to force the Nvidia GPU in the control panel. Some games like to start from the Intergrated GPU.

I tried to force the Nvidia GPU with the game and steam, it still won't work. Same error pops up.

I'm trying one last ditch effort, verifying integrity of game files, maybe when I downloaded the game it was missing some files. Either that or maybe I have to download the game in C drive instead of D

actually all I had to do was restart my computer after verifying integrity of game files, so now it works

actually it was only a temporary fix, because after I finish a play session the dreaded error pops up again.

.CPP is a Visual C++ file, so the most likely explanation is that a Windows update messed up your Visual C++ Runtime installation. Just download all installers from the Microsoft website, and install them. That usually fixes it.
