Can’t get past the 2nd run chess puzzle
I have the correct pieces in the correct order or places but it won’t unlock the door. Yes I am running a trainer but I reloaded the game without the trainer... only using infinite ammo and health, nothing else. Still won’t go thru

Try reloading the game without the trainer and go up to that point again, see if it caused something to break.

probably cant get that far with out the trainer...i suck and its a hard game...lol
Is there something in particular that's difficult for you? Playing on assisted still proves difficult? Not shaming, by the way, intending to help.

If you require training wheels to play a game then maybe reconsider video games because a lot of them require a challenge to be entertaining.

If the door does not open, then you have the wrong solution. Use Steam guides, one popular internet guide has a row backwards and we get a lot of people asking about the puzzle because of that. For data gathering, I have used some of the most extreme options in the trainer and saw all possible softlocks. The chess puzzle door cannot be broken by the trainers at all. It will always work.

Still isn't an excuse in my opinion if you need training wheels that badly that not even the easiest difficulty to start out on can't even help you from dying.

That's still not very hard honestly, still have a lot of ammo and health be spawned, if anything you get too much especially the ammo since you can use the gunpowders to make more.

If that's so, beat the game on Hardcore ASAP on S Rank, so you can get the SMG with unlimited ammo, as well as the Albert Model of Samurai Edge.

Destroying all the Mr. Rackoons during the story (requires, both, 1st & 2nd runs from both characters) rewards you with the unbreakable knife.

If I'm not mistaken, beating the game on Hardcore with S+ Rank rewards you with AT-4 (Leon), and with Minigun (Claire), both, with unlimited ammo.

I know how it feels, OP. the feeling of running out of ammo and herbs. I used trainer (infinite ammo) in my 1st playthrough from generator room onwards because I ran out of ammo from trying to shoot every heads. Then I realized shooting the knees is much easier and more effective, so I did my subsequent playthroughs with that strategy in mind and no more trainer necessary, except for disabling the vintage and some other cosmetic effects.

Now if that's not an escape goat than I don't know what is, you can do headshots and still have plenty of ammo even on hardcore, the game gives you so much to do so.

Hey I'm not saying I'm proud of it. Bash all of people who use trainer if you want to. I just want to give OP reassurance that someone who was also too concerned, maybe too much, about ammo conservation, shouldn't have to be concerned at all when you know what to do.

That's not bashing, just disappointment because I never had an issue first playthrough with the ammo hell never even died during my first playthrough came close but never a full on asskicking.

Yes, yes, you're the chosen one. Everyone is different from you.
Ugh, I could entertain you with answers, but it seems like you just want to find someone to argue with.

The game was specifically made to punish you if you mismanage your resources. The save points are a safeguard, if you find yourself in an impossible situation you're expected to load an earlier save and try it again with your newly acquired knowledge, or start over if the damage is too bad.

That said, while I would never recommend someone to use a trainer as it takes away the whole point of the game, I don't really get why people get mad at others cheating on a single player game. It also bothers me to see people get bashed for playing poorly on a game specifically made to get the best out of your nerves and underperform.

So, yeah, if the trainer worked for you, that's good IMO. It's better than to just drop the game, and you can always play without it later on. Ignore the elitism and enjoy the game whatever way you like it.
