How did Mr X follow you through the original game?

Does he follow you like in the remake or is it scripted events? I'm playing through the original ps1 version after playing the remake. So far I know that he does not show up in the A scenarios only B, and you can sort of kill him and get ammo as a reward. Is he a random encounter throughout the game?

More or less he is a scripted encounter through out the game. Not a lot of following

Well, I won't spoil it for you, but it was basically scripted events so you won't randomly encounter him.

He pops up around six times at six pre-determined spots you must pass through to progress. He never leaves that particular area, sometimes even gets despawned if you exit and reenter (other times he is reset to his starting position and starts moving towards you again).

He was optional.Story B's Game is all about Birkin and G-Virus which made Mr.X OPTIONAL.

Original Mr. X was a pushower the second you where armed with anything stronger than the pistol.
