Help to defeat Birking G3 hardcore (Leon A)
Hi guys,

I'm doing a sort of speedrun on hardcore (to unlock infinite ammo, mainly) and I just can't seem to be able to defeat Birking G3 (Leon A scenario). I have plenty of ammo (84 handgun bullets, 20 magnum bullets, 20 shotgun bullets) and some healing (1 spray, 1 red+green, 1 red+green+blue) but he keeps beating me senseless. I don't know if I'm being too agressive (I'm running short of time, so I must defeat him quickly if I want to get a ranking S).

Any advise? strategy? I began using my big guns but I've realized that I seem to do a little better at killing the eyes with the handgun (I kinda suck at aiming, so I need something steady). I also have 4 grenades but they don't seem to work out at all.

So, any help would be greatly appreciated

Take 2 knives and the flamethrower into the fight on top of your other ammo. Shoot out his weak points on his left leg, right shoulder, and back first. Once he's down nestle up in his back and knife him. Make sure you switch knives when the durability indicator in the bottom right turns red so you don't get stuck in the broken knife animation. That should chunk off at least half his health.
The flamethrower does a lot of damage on him, apparently even when his chest isn't exposed(?) so when he gets back up after the knifing you should be able to just dump flamer fuel into him. If it doesn't finish him off you should at least be in the final phase of the fight by the time you run out of fuel with plenty of ammo to spare.

Matilda and Chris's Samurai Edge are pretty steady, very easy to kill his eyes with. Grab a knife, stand right behind him when he kneels and slash away. Even if your FPS is not particularly high, the knife still does a ♥♥♥♥-ton of damage to him if you hug his back. I think it hits him like 3 or 4 times with each slash.

Do this twice and he should go into rage mode (Eyes on shoulder, back and leg will disappear)

When he's in rage mode, your best bet is to either burn him down with the flamethrower or finish him with grenades. He's pretty weak fo fire damage so it's very effective.

You can also use shotgun/magnum to shoot the eyes on his chest, but you need to be a good shot, he moves a lot in rage mode.

You only need about 5 mins after him to beat the game. How much time do you have left? Matilda with a stock can drop Mr. T in about 2 minutes. You have plenty of magnum ammo though, that should be enough to get G3 very low.

I remember I killed him with Matilda last time on Hardcore (took many bullets with me).

Hi guys,

I finally beat him!! I went full matilda with the eyes and then with the "central eyes" I went full magnum. Then Tyrant was able to finish him quickly (I still don't get how this boss works...I believe it's about surviving enough time, but I have the feeling the time might be randomized?). Anyway, I beat Leon A scenario on hardcore...in 2 hours 23 minutes! A bit too close, but I finally have unlimited ammo for the mp5 sort of gun.

I'm thinking of doing a harcord S rank for Claire, because I saw you can get a submachine gun. Is it worth it? Is it better than Leon's mp5? I know that when I go for S+ I will only go for the rocket launcher (I don't see the point of the minigun....is it really worth it?)

The Tyrant fight is supposed to go faster the more damage you do to him. Meaning, you should get the Rocket Launcher faster. Not sure if it actually works, though -- Last time I played this fight I spammed shotgun and magnum rounds into him and it was only 5 seconds faster than the time I killed him with nothing but Wesker's Samurai Edge and 100 fuel.

As far as Hardcore S for Claire, you don't get another weapon for doing it. There's only 5 unlimited weapons in the game.

> Knife for 15 Mr. Raccoons

> Samurai Edge base model for S on Standard or Higher

> MP5 for S on Hardcore

> Rocket Launcher for S+ in any of Leon's scenarios

> Minigun for S+ in any of Claire's scenarios

I mean, the Minigun is pretty cool. It's the same one you use when fighting G4, except it has infinite ammo.

The final Tyrant fight is on a hidden timer. Or think of it more like a bar you must fill.
When you hit 1:30 on the clock (or whatever the hardcore amount is, I am starting hardcore today) or if you dealt enough damage both in number of hits and raw damage, you get the rocket launcher. Knife and handgun work nice enough. The bar fills a lot faster if you can hit the exposed heart. It is possible to trigger the rocket launcher scene in roughly 30 seconds if you save all magnum ammo for it or if you have Matilda with the stock for burst fire. (And you can aim steadily.)

By the way, G3 has a wonky hitbox. If you bring the infinite knife, you can just stay in its face and wail on him. His claws cannot hit you if you are breathing on its neck. Keep in mind that the infinite knife is kinda slow though, three magnum shots to deal with the eyes in two phases is faster.
Does not work on the Tyrant, it has a move where it does an immediate 90-degree turn and that puts you in the way of the hurtbox.
