How do I get past the crocodile?

How do I get past the crocodile? The camera is backwards towards my face, so I hold down shift and S to RUN towards the camera, away from the croc. But it bites me every time. Any suggestions?

You just have to run close to the left side of the screen (right Leons side), then right, then left.

Basically to summarize Bass, follow the camera whenever it moves.

Leon runs automatically. You do not have to hold anything down. Just go left or right based on the rather obvious trigger of "which side the alligator is on". The last one can be tricky but everyone gets it in a few tries.

So the thing I found to get it consistently, is that Leon automatically runs towards the camera, there is no need to press down/ S key. If you press down/ S key while trying to run left, right, left, the game reads your input as a diagonal input which will slow down your horizontal inputs causing Leon to move to the side slower. Therefore, just press left/ A key, wait for one bite, right/ D key, wait for 2 bites, then left/ A key, 1 bite and Leon will finish the run, you can then shoot the pipe.
