Preload on Linux - Invalid Plataform
When trying to download the preload of RE2, I get an "invalid plataform" message, I'm using Linux (arch), can solve it there ... I want to leave loaded and then run on proton.

Just run steam in wine to allow the preload for now.

Have you enabled Proton for all games? I'm on Ubuntu and preloading has finished fine.

Did you manage to get it to run?
Mine starts to load then the game just quits after about 3 seconds.

It works with DXVK 0.95. Unpack it to steamapps/common/Proton 3.16 Beta/dist/lib64/wine/dxvk/
But the game stucks at loading after the cutscene where Leon and Claire meet.

What do you mean unpack it?

Download tar.gz file from https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases and extract its content to said folder.

Why dont you linux people run windows as a second os for games, why torture yourself
ageres 25 jan, 2019 @ 20:22
Because we don't want to torture ourselves by using Windows. If you have been using Windows for all your life, you won't understand how bad Windows is in comparison to Linux. Install Linux as a second OS yourself or use VirtualBox and compare these systems. Then you'll get why we prefer to stay as much away from Windows as possible.

Also, Windows 10 hates Linux and corrupts its bootloader and file systems on all drives, so dualboot is impossible.

Bruh. I have dualbooted for years without any issues. I also have Linux, and do a lot of development on Linux, and for software it's typically way simpler/easier to just use my Windows partition.

Windows isn't "Torture" lmfao
