REmake 2 VS 7 graphics
Man I just got done playing 7 and I forgot how gorgeous that game looked in first person. It just shines in a way REmake 2 doesnt. Ive got all the graphics maxed out on the REmake and I still think it looks, washed out and a bit dated. It reminds me of the boring graphics from 6. Why? They have this awesome engine and Im not seeing it like I saw it in 7. All the graphics maxed out on 7 my jaw is dropping and Ive played it like 6 times now.

I didnt come here to start a fight I even preordered REmake2...its just the graphics are no where near what I was expecting. I guess I was expecting an improvment over 7. I know the atomsphere is great, toilet water everywhere in one hall, smoke and humidity in others...complete darkness. But none of it shines and it just looks all smeared together with some grey epoxy it looks so fake. Blah. I said my piece. Still cant wait to play it.

I think it's just the 3rd person perspective. I thought the same thing too initially when it was revealed, but upon closer look its still incredibly detailed

Both look solid in my opinion.

Plus, the full game will undoubtedly have touch-ups before full release.

The first playthough of the demo i thought the game looked washed out but i found the ingame gamma and britness slider to adjust to there recomended stuff on the first bootup and the game looked wsshed out and i thought the graphics was a step backwards .

I went to the steam forums and saw some posts people saying the same at 4k so played though again on my brother steam account and this time left to default in-game and used montor control and it looked a lot better to me I think being inside and dark makes the game look worse competed to resi evil 7 which had a lot of light in the house etc

I saw a comparison of re-used assets from RE7, and the same models had higher res textures in RE7 than they do in this demo. Hopefully the demo didn't include the true high res textures for size reasons or something.

A little late answer but I agree.

RE7 looks much better. The atmosphere is better too.

They look pretty similar imo

I've been saying this ever since I played the One Shot demo. You can tell RE7 is more polished. It needed to impress as a new entry in the series and in a new engine and perspective... It clearly had a much higher budget. RE2 felt like a cheaper project in which Capcom didn't want to risk going all in and invest heavy on it. They still did great but felt a little bit more like a spin off RE in comparison to a main entry RE.

For me, it is the other way around. I just got back to RE7 and it feels ridiculously drab visual-wise: the entire game is just varying shades of grey and brown textures, and they feel smudged and pixelated on high settings compared tot he high textures of RE2. Which is funny, because RE7 is over 35 GB, RE2 is barely 25 GB.
Although it is mainly the presence of colours here.

Same.

Resident Evil 2 Remake has some polish that RE7 just doesn't like the gorgeous lighting/shadows and the amazing way water soaks character models and objects outside in the rain.

RE2R is more polished than RE7. It has some glitches though.

RE2 Remake and DMCV looks considerably better than RE7. I'm not saying RE7 looks bad though (except for those well know shadow line problem in this engine which are less aparent in RE2 and almost non-existent in DMCV)
