2nd Run Final Boss, not enough ammo...
Welp... there I am, on the final boss and got only 6 acid grenades and a knife..... Can't beat him like that. 3 Boss fights in a row just drained me of all my ammo..... So. what now? I guess the save file is now rendered worthless.....

I decided to play Assisted to explore game for better navigation... Though I still have my 10 saves from Normal. =)

You kinda have to be trigger happy against bosses, and just before that you've fought two bosses in a row, and not been given enough ammo to cover your expenses.

I was in a similar situation and died quite a few times to him. I had no SMG ammo, ~80 rounds for the minigun, 7 acid grenades, ~10 spark shot needles, and over 50 .45 ACP. For a normal boss that's plenty, but this boss is a dps race and my weapons with plentiful ammo were not good at that (handgun puts its shots downrange quickly, but takes ages to reload).

In the end I managed to kill him milliseconds before he was due to munch on me, due to the fact I was still carrying 3 hand grenades and dumped them on him in desperation at the last moment.

As a potential solution OP, you presumably have tons of normal gunpowder by this point, so turn it into 9mm ammo and bring along the one with the large mag capacity for the final fight. It's a weak weapon but it can put a lot of shots into an eyeball very quickly.

1 gunpowder left. That's it. I guess I have to restart the whole 2nd run on this one.

How are you so short on gunpowder? 2nd run Claire has almost no use for the normal stuff, your normal pistol uses .45 ACP, meaning there's no use for 9mm ammo, meaning your only use for normal gunpowder is combining with high grade to make acid rounds.

You really have been much too trigger happy. I believe at that point in the game I have something like 6 gunpowders and 2 large gunpowders just sitting in my stash doing nothing.

Well, I used up most on the first boss, for the 2nd you got a minigun, so that was not an issue, but only get 2 powders for the 3rd one and a knife. I was expecting more ammunition by design, so something like that wouldn't happen and you would still get a good chance of actually beating the boss. Guess I was wrong.

Same thing happened to me on RE5. I was 15, playing with my school mate on the final boss (the part with the lava). Ran out of bullets on everything and had only the knife, so I killed him with the knife. Last year (I am 23 now) we were hanging out and he brought up that boss fight. I didn't even remember it at first, but he did. That's how much it impressed him.
So I suggest you bring one of your buddies to watch and try to kill the boss with only the knife. He will remember it for years.

I already tried the knife part, thing is, that monster will eat you alive if you get too close to it. You can land some hits with it, but eventually he will eat you up. So, it feels like a joke to give me a knife for the last fight lol

In the Orignal Game there was a conditon how the fight could end
if Leon or Claire is out of ammo/does not have any weapons and G-5 would reach the end of the train it would die on his own

But i dont know if this is still possible.

I my case, i had plenty of magnum ammunition left with my Leon B aswell 3 Rocket's

No such luck in this game. There's no way to retreat and it basically eats you automatically once it gets too close.

Leon will have a much easier time with this fight, he only needs to use one rocket to win his previous fight so he'll have 3 left for this thing, Claire on the other hand needs to burn loads of ammo to win her previous fight. Leon's normal weapons also have generally better dps than Claire's.

This is kind of late but for anyone else who may need help with this. Just wait for it to get to the end of the car and open up its big eye. When it does that then starts firing all your ammo into the eye. Don't waste it before it reveals the eye as the eye is it's weak point.

By that point, you can do it with a single knife slash, and there is a free knife the car before the boss.

I tried slashing it and got eaten, but I used the two big ammo mixes it gives you on the train to make handgun ammo. And I finished it off that way. I also had two rockets but maybe those aren't needed.
