The game does not launch on windows 10, just like Resident Evil 7 - WTF CAPCOM

I purchased Resident Evil 7 in October, and i had issues with the game not launching. It would just launch into a windowed blackscreen, and close down. Many people seemed to have the same issues.

When i just tried to launch Resident Evil 2 for the first time the same thing happened! This has to be a Capcom issue. I'm extremy upset right now... Why is this happening? I had no issue with the demo.

My game was crashing on startup with a black window. I looked in the Windows Event Viewer and RE2 was crashing due to a file called "nahimicv3devprops2.dll" in my case. I opened my Task Manager and ended all the tasks with "Nahimic" in their name and the game started up just fine.

Apparantly the file is associated with the programs Sonic Studio and Sonic Radar which are associated with ASUS motherboards. I unistalled both those programs just in case since I use an external DAC anyways and not onboard audio.

Moral of the story: ending the tasks and getting rid of anything with "Nahimic" in the name fixed the game.

Based on the description provided, it appears the Sonic app is injecting itself into the audio stream or hooking into the audio driver to sniff out sound stage in order to identify the source and direction of the sound (i.e., enemy footsteps).

Radeon Eyefinity was the problem for me as I stated a few posts earlier, once I disabled it then the game worked. The pinned solution at the beginning of this thread was no help since that audio dll mentioned was nowhere to be found on my machine.

I have asus motherboard but unlike what OP suggests, I dont have any of the following applications installed: Sonic Audio / Sound studio / Sonic Radar application.

Posted my event viewer earlier, any of the devs care? want to do anything besides pinning a post that probably worked for couple of people?

I was having issues launching after I changed to DX12 -- I had to open the config file in notepad and change it back to DX11

Nevertheless, there are a lot of people complaining, and not enough people trying out the PINNED solution.

The pinned soultion doesn't work for many folks, including myself, as it's for a very specific issue.

**FIX** worked for me at least. Download and install the latest media feature pack for your version of windows 10 and reboot, game launched without issues :)

Hello dears! Dear developers, I ask you to solve a problem with start of RESIDENT EVIL 2 REMAKE since at start on windows 10 your game is started only at the switched-on joystick, and has to both on it and on the keyboard (the keyboard refuses to work, nothing is pressed)
