Have I softlocked this godawuful game?

I bought this title because I was excited for this game, and tried hardcore difficulty for the extra challenge. It then became clear that i this difficulty was made for actual sadists rather than people who wanted a slight challenge as i sweated my way through the first area of the game clinging to my moist cheeks without being able to get the shotgun from the cabinet as i had retried and died losing large sections of progress multiple times to get the three dicss to open the exit, believing i could get the shotgun after opening the door. NOPE, TURNS OUT I CANT GO BACK TO THE PLACE WITHOUT FIGHTING WILLIAM ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BIRKIN FIRST, WHO I HAVE HIT IN THE EYE WITH ALL MY BULLETS AND NADED PERFECTLY TWICE TO NO AVAIL AS THE BIG RED TOO MUCH MASTURBATION QUAGMIRE ARM HEADASS DUDE IS STILL WANDERING AROUND THE ARENA AND NOT DYING BECAUSE I DONT HAVE A SHOTGUN HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PROBLEM OR IS I JUST ME IM CURIOUS SO DO I NOW I HAVE TO RELOAD ANOTHER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SAVE LOSING HOURS OF PROGRESS TO EVEN PROGRESS OR NOT WHICH IS IT CAPCUCKS

It's called "hardcore" for a reason.
Just don't start blindly with it.

Y'know...it's called "hardcore" for a reason. Throwing a tantrum isn't going to make the game any easier for you. Instead of making such a pointles rant thread you could have restarted the game over on normal (or easy if you prefer). Problem solved.

It is a survival horror game.
Your items are limited. Always keep multiple save files.
If you had played the game on normal first, then you'd have a better idea on how to spend your items, where mobs spawn and how to get around them on hard.

This is not an awful system.
It is part of the game. Learn it.

I never understand why people start on the higher settings for a first playthrough anyway. I figure normal is usually the way the devs meant for us to play it, so I always start with that. Plus, with a game this short, you know you're going to come back for another run, so punish yourself later and enjoy it now, haha.

Maybe next time try the game on normal and gauge how it feels first before deciding to jump straight into the hardest difficulty a game offers.
