Mr. X's terrible AI

Hear me out guys, I'm playing on Hardcore as Leon and to be honest I like the challenge that Mr.X presents in this game but whenever I get as close as 5 meters to any enemy, Mr. X will instantly know where I am and come to me.

Hiding from him is basically useless since he will always know where you are for some reason and shooting him is just wasting bullets that I really need since I'm playing on Hardcore.

Yes, the Tyrant has ears. If you make noise, it will go near that area to investigate. That is the entire point of its in-game mechanic.
Pistols do bonus damage against it and there is over 10% more ammo on hardcore than what you need to kill every single enemy.
If you did not clear out the station before activating the Tyrant, then just play a cat and mouse game hiding in the safe rooms and the STARS office.

I'm playing this game for the very first time, I didn't even know this enemy existed in the first place, if I did know that, I would clear the station first like you said.

Also, when you make noise, not only does he investigate, he also always knows where you are hiding even if you slowly walked to the hiding place.

Er, not really. When you make noise, the Tyrant very quickly moves to one of the adjacent rooms, then immediately goes to where you stood when you made the noise. If you keep making noise or it sees you, then it will start actively pursuing you. If you made enough noise, it can home in you from a nearby room, but that is rare. You can tell if it is in active pursuit if its music starts.

The only time it will really know where you exactly are and start chasing you is when you pick up the jack handle. That is a scripted event. Everything else is its AI scanning the police station (if you broke pursuit for a while, then it starts to scan faster and faster, but it is still possible to completely avoid it if you are half-lucky).

Wrong how? It is randomly patrolling the GCPD. You can always bump into it.

the only real place you need to clear out is by the weapon room and the office the hall wway clear out the zombies and so when mr x chases you you need to dispatch the lickers quick other then that hes easy to avoid

Didn't I say I was playing on Hardcore, I hit every shot i the head and I still don't have enough ammo to kill all those enemies.

How DON'T you have enough? People will tell you that even on hardcore mode you are given more than enough ammo to get by.

Use knife to kill all lickers, super easy, lots of ammo for the other enemies...

Tried that, didn't work.

Then you did something wrong. As long as you keep moving towards the licker and keep knifing along the way, you can keep them stunlocked even on 30 fps.
