(Film question) Why did morgans freemans character….. think emmet was the special?

Wanted to post this in another section but in both films why is emmet so important? We see emmet is just a every day joe smoe… he goes to work goes home, then in the 2nd film, we see him tackle his future tougher self…. So whats his goal were they planning on doing 3 films?… why does emmet just seem goofy 24/7?

Anyone feel like lego movie lore couldve added more background on emmet and what made him so important… when he's kinda the complete opposite?😐🤔 wouldve wanted to know why vertruvias, picked him, and ye i know the film was mostly from the kids perspective or from the kid struggling to keep his legos and make friends but expand tell us more.

Weve seen characters like metal beard and unikitty kinda have both their arcs? But emmet feels like he needs more lore… where are his family members his.. relatives? If his story is just in bricksburg, and he can build things fast shouldn't he change his job or maybe explore himself, what he values has more of a arc? We know in the 2nd film hes afraid of changing. Lucy pushes him.

Maybe theyll make a 3rd film but wouldve wanted more of a why him adventure? And maybe add more structure to your films show us a dangerous peril or emmets weakness”s. Show us how emmet cope’s with his relationships/others.

Sorry for late answer, but i think there trying to portray that everday people can be hero;s. This is why emmit was special. Morgan Freeman thought he was special because he was normal. Every character in the film had their own thing, but emmit..well he is just a average joe, so i think this is why. Also, lego is portraying everyone is special in their own way by doing this angle.
