ill just help bump this tho
One deeply stupid thing alot of these mods do, is that they unzip into a folder obviously, with the same name as the zip file, but there's ANOTHER folder inside that one that usually also has the name of the mod, and THAT is the one that actually needs to be in the mods folder. They will appear blank in-game and not work until this is done. Why these zip files are set up that way, I cant even guess... it's all sorts of idiotic.
Maybe there's other things that can cause the same problem, but that's how it's always been whenever I run into it.
