Custom character mods?
Hey, i was wondering how difficult it would be to change the sprite of the characer...

Since i also like games like Starbound....
(has tons of different races and playerlooks),
i was hoping to maybe someday simply drag n drop sprites in a folder. (i know its not that easy, but i have no clue creating a mod)
Anyone got some inside? :D

If you're comfortable with sprite editing and pixel animation, then go to Steam\steamapps\common\Noita\mods folder on your computer and look at the default mod folder called "starting_loadouts"

You should see a folder called "files" -- take a look in there and pick any of the folders inside. In each one there is a png file called "player.png", this is the base spritesheet you'd be editing. If editing all that looks doable, make a copy and get started with your editing.

Then I'd recommend going to modworkshop and downloading a few already made player character mods for reference. Like one of these:
https://modworkshop.net/mod/25885
https://modworkshop.net/mod/26541
That'll get you started on how to lay out the folder structure and coding needed for your custom player character.

Side note:
At this time, using a custom character will disable high scores for the game. Even though technically you are only altering graphics and not gameplay, all mods right now disable score saving.

Dude thank you so much for the intel. I didnt notice that Noita has moding allready intended. :D
Well in any case: i dont really care much about highscore for now and will be trying my best moding. And if all fails, imma have to maybe ask someone.

Btw: i have your extra health mod installed, but the characer mods arnt public are they? :D

The modding just recently got Steam Workshop support, so most of the mods are still on Nexus / ModWorkshop. Github also has quite a few of the more extensive mods up there, if you want to look into it more and talk with the coders. Good luck with the custom character art!

My player character mods were mostly for myself and friends, they are original characters no one would know or recognize so I didn't upload ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
