Shiny Orb gold disappears even with Gold is Forever perk

I've found that the gold dropped from the Shiny Orb disappears even with the Gold is Forever perk active. Is this a bug, or is the perk only supposed to apply to gold dropped from enemies?

Probably a "bug", not that it matters very much. You get the gold out of it by kicking, so there's little risk of it disappearing before you get to it.

But the main thing is that you should probably never take the perk in the first place. Gold isn't nearly as important as new players think it is, and later in a run there's a ton of it flying everywhere; making it unable to despawn is only good for killing game performance and causing crashes.
