One of your most useful tools is the water potion as with it you dilute other problems.
What I can recommend for a new player like you is to take your time at first, a LOT of things can happen in seconds, watch out for enemies and dangerous liquids/objects (you can check the materials by pointing your mouse on it).
EXPERIMENT.
This game offers a huge amount of possibilities, a TON of spells, perks and materials that interact in various ways with each other.
The key to unlocking the game's full potential lies in experimentation. There’s always something new to discover, whether it's a spell combo, a hidden mechanic, or a quirky interaction. Man, don't hesitate to try things that seem weird at first. The game can be VERY rewarding if you take the time to try things.
DON'T BE AFRAID TO DIE.
Game Overs were, for me, the result of 90% of my experimentation when I started the game.
I mean, this is a roguelike, you're pretty much expected to die. So why not test numerous stuff that could seem stupid at first ? The most I've learned from Noita is by dying, whether I threw myself in a liquid or tested weird spell combinations.
Just embrace the chaos and let your experiments guide you toward deeper understanding.
They have VERY quick reload time and are likely to drain their mana from the output.
Sometimes they can come preset with a decent loadout.
Other times you have to do some tinkering in the next zone and put your starter blue wand's spell on it to get a reasonably useful gun.
This by no means is a silver bullet, but it'll make further advancement much less of a headache.
When you find new wands/potions, test out what they do. Try to do this in a bigger area, so you have more room to escape if an enemy appears or you fire off something that might hurt you.
Try to keep water on you at all times. You may start out with a water potion already, but you'll likely start off with a different potion. You can pour it out anywhere, then when you come across a pool of water, jump in and equip your empty potion to fill it with water. When you see a big pit flowing with fire/sludge/lava, pour some water over it. Enough water can extinguish or neutralize those things. If you start taking damage from fire or sludge, quickly pour some water over you to put it out. If you're unsure of what substance a pool of liquid or cloud of vapor is, hover your pointer over it and the game will tell you next to your inventory list. It is very easy to get worn down by fire or toxic sludge if you don't pay attention to where it's pooled.
Try to collect as much gold and any health-boost hearts you see, but don't be too greedy; if you health gets really low, don't push your luck, and just try to find the safest path to the exit below.
You will often need to swap through your inventory on the fly. If you find yourself mis-clicking a lot, try remapping some of your controls.
Above all else, as a new player, expect to die. A lot. Don't lose your cool, piece together what you may have been able to do to avoid that enemy or hazard, and see what you can find your next run. This game has a ton to discover but it demands a great deal of patience. I have yet to finish a run myself, but I've playing for almost a week straight and have improved a lot. Good luck!
in the beginning, health is the only thing that should dictate if you go to the next area or not
spells in area 1-3 are usually bad but occasionally are insanely good.
IMO i hate the frozen caverns the most out of every area because of how open it is and getting shot 3 monitor lengths away by a sniper or even a regular unit sucks. You can absolutely speedrun through it and go to the next area with a rapid fire sparkbolt wand and do better.
Hisii base is a skill check but once you figure it out it becomes pretty easy and full of decent wands
jungle isnt as hard as hisii base. the enemies are chunkier but fairer
vault is chaotic and insane due to EVERYTHING EXPLODING and electricity everywhere. Its really open though and good for farming wands
final floor is surprisingly easy since at this point you should be decently equipped
final boss is going to surprise you on how easy it is...
you'll begin to wonder if there's more to this game
:)
Once you know how one thing works, you can just avoid it if your current load out can't handle it.
If you don't like exploration type games while dying a lot, you can pull up a wiki and pause during a run to see what certain spells do, what kind of enemies are lurking in which biome, which perks are good and which to ignore for the time being.
I recommend trying to get immunity perks first before anything else. Faster and longer levitation is always good as well. Shields are a noob trap, imo, they can kill you if you have the wrong spells.
You can also savescum, just look for your save and make a backup. Make sure to turn off cloudsave.
There's also added benefit to this replay function. You can share those replays and let the rest of us laugh to your sorry ass as well.
