Dude, nightmare is freaking seemingly impossible
I can't do squat and constantly sending monsters WAY above my league with simple monsters that have double the HP, that do double damage...

How am I even suppose to combat the constant bombardment of all this? After the first teleport i'll have a chance to teleport to Hiisi base. Which has elements of enemies way outside the bounds of any practical challenge for me to combat given the random perks I may or may not have.

I have died over 3000 times to no avail.

Should I just use some sort of cheating device, bypassing the mods? This is getting ridiculous!

It's been a while since I played Nightmare, but I don't recall having to die 3000 times before I could get a good run in. Sure you're not playing too gung-ho? I recall having to be very patient whittling enemies down until I could get a broken wand built.

I am playing as careful as I can... I just don't feel the perks are worth it in nightmare as much... Every enemy has double HP and Double damage, so being careful is by default.

try to spend as much time as you can on the first level getting gold and good wand combos. you can change your spells as you go so take advantage of that

You can grab a tablet over the mountain, it's very useful early. Often allow to get a kill safely, or hide behind it while your jetpack recover. If you find a scond one it's even more easy to setup wall or baricade in some spot to save your skin.

Most early enemies have a harder time aiming up, try to always attack from the top.

You can also abuse liquid like polymorphine, it works regardless of the difficulty. While you end up having less money it's often still better than trying to say, fight head-on the little guy that throw red cursed ball or a gatling gun with a not so great wand.

A lot of monster won't try to swim much making them easy target (if they don't drown). You could bring the lake or have a lucky rain or have a way to spawn some water to deal with the first part of the world.

I usually try to fully explore before I keep going.

basically try to rely more on the environment than simply trying to get a good wand.

Getting a long range wand for the hissi base is damn useful tho. you can outrange/dodge a lot of enemies here if you stay far from them and slowly kill them.

I like all of these ideas...

Though what Boksha said earlier about creating awand using a broken one? I am intrigued by this... Instead of burdening to ask anyone else I'll research this broken wand mechanic.

Thank you guys for your support.

Ah, to be clear, by 'broken wand' I just meant a wand that is so good it seems to break the game; nothing specifically related to the Broken Wand item (in fact: those are pretty useless in Nightmare Mode for reasons).

Wasnt there a nightmare+ mode?

The key to nightmare is to obtain a consistent source of healing. Wand experimenter is very good in nightmare as there are tons of wands. (You can pull everything off a wand straight to the ground and it will keep its unmodified status so you can still heal with it.) Vampirism is also pretty useful if you have a chainsaw or drill wand to mulch the bodies with, especially in conjunction with more blood perk.

A spark bolt into multicast pollen with an electricity mod on the pollen is also very handy for killing stuff around corners (You need electricity on it to take out mechanical units)

Considering that most monster can one shot you (or drop 3/4 of your health) I find healing not THAT relevant compared to having a good wand and some digging tool (to kill trough small gap and so on).
Unless you somehow are lucky and find a good amount of health up, then maybe you can afford to actually take a hit and not immediately die.

Yes of course you want to get a good wand, and you want to search the zone as long as you can to find health/spells/wands. But no matter how good your wand is, you will die to attrition before you make it down to the bottom, unless you get a source of healing, or bypass everything by getting a digging wand put together early and digging your way to the boss.

I had some great healing options I had a wand that had like 10 spells of healing(20 shots a piece) plus it had a 'bounce' affix to the wand, and Vampirism with 210 health. It was a GREAT start with a GOOD wand, until I got cornered... lol I got wasted in less than a second.

Finally got my first nightmare run. Ended up getting quite a few damage modifiers and add manas so went back up and got the kantelle to do a music note wand for the first time and it worked a treat.

I only have about 15 hours of play in so far, but I rarely make it past the first or second areas, so even vanilla mode is a nightmare for me at this point.

It's ridiculous despite the "free" 3 wands, and the "free perks" Nightmare mode enemies have double damage, and double health and some have perks of their own.
