Tip box, then Spoiler box
Tip: With your god like powers, why not try exploring out of bounds? That glowing platform above the mountain is also a little sussy. Have you tried giving it things?
Spoiler: The left and right walls separate you from another world. Left or right, you can re-explore the map and this includes the high alchemist. Don't lose the key this time by overkilling him with explosions ahahaha! Also be VERY careful on the surface or some mini-bosses will remind you of your mortality. Finally, said wall itself is dangerous to cross after a certain point before becoming safe again. Be careful!
Additionally, the mountain altar can accept the blue gear thing and will provide various results. We're going one more level deeper into spoiler territory, I'll add a SUPER SPOILER box below.
Super Spoiler: Deliver the gear to the altar with 0-4 orbs will give you the toxic ending; 5-10 orbs bring you to NG+, a slightly different and stronger version of the original world; 11 orbs give you the pure ending
Uncover the boxes at your own discretion~
I could backtrack and revisit every last pixel I've been through and see if I can find the key or if it despawned (Or I can drop some useless inventory and see if it lasts through a game exit and be where I left them when loading the game). I am guessing that was the key to the... whole thing moving forward? I'll find out somehow ...
The boxes are separate spoiler tags so uncovering the tip will not reveal the spoiler or super spoiler box and it only directs you towards points of interest. If it still pains ya, then you got some experimenting to do on your world ;)
Regardless, as long as you persevere, you'll reach the end. We all will.
At some point you will be good enough to beat RNG almost every game to reach the point where you can do endgame "quest" stuff.
I respect up not looking up stuff but I did it pretty early and don't regret a thing. got this game in march and I already have 400h in the game.
It is still good with a little help from the wiki just look up small chunks at a time.
If you already killed the alchemist you've reached a part where the secrets are so secret that I myself would have never figured anything out :D
