How many hours have you played?
I think understanding the wands stats is pretty easy. The spells in combination with others + several perks not so much. You can literally make different builds. It's a huge and overwhelming system at first.
So if you want to learn the (a bit) easier way, install mods --> SpellLab and the one where you start with perks you choose. This way you can get a grasp on how things work.
I've neglected a couple of spells at first, because on their own they didn't do much, or almost nothing...
Now I understand those spells are very important to my builds!! (talking about luminous drill, drill, and chainsaw for example).
Or spells with a timer or imo more important spells with trigger.
If you don't understand the mechanics you'll fail. If you don't understand what you have to do in order to (insert your goal here) you fail. If you know everything perfectly about this game you fail. But different ;).
I advise you to practice a bit with mods and then go in again without. Makes a huge difference!
It doesn't spoil too much!

As for advice, always pick resist perks, slime blood is good, wand experimentator is good for long game. If you want to edit wands anytime without perk you can dig out of the temple without triggering eathquake(skeleton spawns but who cares). New plasma cutter spell is god tier if you can avoid killing yourself with it. Visit The Gold on the top right for easy 250k (requires strong digging like black hole or luminous drill). Learn enemy patterns and behavior, use ground to your advantage and be as creative as you can. If you can't defeat something - run. Avoid lightning bolt unless you got both electric and explosion resist. Noita is skill based game, there is no RNG that you can't overcome.
2) Get teleport early so you can leave the holy mountain without collapsing it, going back to swap spells is just huge.
3) Lightning bolt after a trigger spell (as in, the trigger spell casts the bolt) is really huge too early to mid game, that way you fire your projectile and where ever it lands is where the bolt starts, can trivialize the first 2-3 areas that way.
Edit: Here is some explanation.
-Trigger Projectile>Heavy Shot>*Some sort of multicast*>Any fast spell 3-6 depending on the multicast. The spell modifiers only apply to spells in a multicast group.
I'm interested in things veterans bring up which don't make sense to me. I'll be satisfied to hear "that'll be obvious deeper in the mountain" but IF NOT, please don't hold back in the name of spoilers.
1. There is a spot in a mountain that is very difficult to get to "normally". However, once you get there you get like 2 billion gold from there. You can basically get there as early as you have Teleport/Digging spells.
2. Parallel worlds require a lot of digging through high density rock to the right/left of your world. Basically it's like doing "new game plus" for a little bit to revisit respawned old areas... but you go back to your world when you are done.
3. I don't know, haven't gotten this far yet.
4. Usually those "early parts" are a parallel world and not the "real" early parts. Also those overpowered wands are typically created by using the various hidden/secret spells... like Greek Letters/powers.
5. Luminous Drill is a lightsaber from Star Wars. It is crazy strong and becomes stronger with the right spell combos.
2) Go father down through a layer of lava. (lava to blood, lucky fungal shift while holding lava flask (or just lucky fungal shift), and more.)
3) Go through extermely dense rock with black holes, luminous drill, plasma cutter or some other spell.
(it's possible to skip step 3 because the lava lake actually reaches hell if you go right, then down, then left when you can.)
2) Walking to the right or left on the surface (you will need to levitate or teleport over a mountain or tree) you will bump into a wall of dense stone. If you dig further, you will reach the cursed stone. However, if you dig through it and another layer of dense stone, you will find yourself in a parallel world. The parallel world is a little different from the usual one, but in general, here you can find more skills and new wands and spells.
Remember two things: you need a good digging tool like a black hole to get through the dense and cursed rock and you need ambrosia to protect yourself from damage from the cursed stone.
Entering portals to the holy mountain in the parallel world teleports you back to the original world. To move between bioms in a parallel world, you will need to dig down.
3) Work / Hell are locations that are placed high in the sky / below the last biome under the lava lake. In these locations, you can find powerful and rare spells that usually drop from bosses or require other conditions to be found.
4) Most likely they are in a parallel world or ng +. (Also it is possible to get into a couple of other biomes and get strong wands before going under the mountain, but this is difficult, dangerous and generally takes longer than the usual path)
5) By itself, this spell is not impressive, but with the help of some amplifier spells and a powerful wand, this spell turns into a powerful weapon / digging tool. Moreover, this spell reduces the cast delay, speeding up the casting of other spells.
In general, that works like this: you explore biomes as usual, find skills, look for black holes, ambrosia and teleport spells. Then you go to the parallel world and find more skills and rare spells. This process can be repeated many times until you have an incredibly powerful wand and dozens of skills that will make you almost invulnerable.
I advise you to just play as usual for now. Absolutely everyone suffers in this game at first, but sooner or later you will find that you can regularly defeat the boss and confidently navigate normal biomes and then it will be a good moment to start exploring the rest of the world.
(sorry for broken english this is not my first language)
What I use for corrupted surfaces is the Tannerkivi. So I shoot black holes through the cursed stone --> I just walk through it with the Kivi equipped. No Ambrosia running out quickly, no risk.
Paha Silmä and/or the Tannerkivi are great digging options early. They take away quickslot space though..
So depending on my run: if I don't find a good drill option in the first (or second) biome I collect the Tannerkivi.
Use a teleport bolt to move through the cursed rock tunnel. Stains wear off quickly while the player is actively moving... but teleportation doesn't technically count as moving, at least for the purposes of stain calculation.
