Noita
(Steam Deck) Is there a way to bind a button to potion drinking?
I was watching a beginners guide video and one of the tips was that you could drink potions directly clicking them in the item bar.

i can't do that on deck since i have no mouse, and trying to bind the button using the ingame menu doesn't seem to work. Anyone else figure this one out?

I don't have a steam deck nor do I use controller frequently, but by default the controller layout requires you to open the spell inventory, select the potion with the cursor then press Y to drink it. The mouse and keyboard layout you can directly right click to drink. Assuming your steam deck uses controller layout, I don't think there's a way to directly drink from your potion like how you can with M&KB.

Can't you just tap it on the screen?

I can't tap the screen, but I tried selecting it in the spell menu and hitting X and that did work, idk why it said Y was the button in the control bind menu

And literally after I starved to death in my last run after getting that one hunger based peek

This sounds like a good way to accidentally switch to an explosive wand, fire it, and end your run.

Or to accidentally throw it out of your inventory.
Take a screenshot of the game. In the controller configurator, bind a command to "Move Mouse to Position". It lets you use that screenshot to easily choose what coordinates you want to move the mouse to. It can even auto-return the cursor to the previous position.

Then for the same input, add an extra command to left-click. Tap the gear icon for that left-click command and set a Fire Start Delay. Something like 100ms might work, just play with it.

You'll have to do this for each item slot. You could have a button select an item on regular press, or drink it on long press (if applicable).

Also, in Noita's in-game options, make sure the option that's something like "Clicking on item selects it" is on.
