Phasing Perk
Does it only work on slow projectiles?
Seems like shotgun guys have no problem giving a good blast to the face, but slower projectiles like the slow lava flies will successfully phase and teleport behind you.

Anyone played with this perk much?

I took the perk on a run yesterday and proceeded to die from a projectile not too long after that, wish I could remember exactly which enemy or had taken a screenshot. But it was literally less than 30 seconds after taking the perk that I entered the ice zone and got killed by a projectile. I don't think the enemy was very far away but it definitely wasn't a shotgun guy. I was super confused but just figured it was me not understanding the game yet, because I honestly still have no idea what I'm doing.

It sounds like it was one of the sniper guys. Their projectiles go pretty fast, so it supports the theory phasing only works on slower projectiles.

I got one run in with the phase perk. I got shotgunned by shotgun dude in the coal mines. He shot three and I think only two of his bullets hit me. I think only the first bullet was phased. Still not entirely sure; have to play some more with it. The slow bullets theory might be true though because I also encountered the toxic sludge thing and its projectile phased through me--definitely a lot slower than shotgun.

wiki: Gives a 50% chance to avoid damage from projectiles that move slower than a basic spark bolt. Does not protect you from your own spells.

That sounds actually useless. Thought I had a god tier run on my hands because I found Phasing, read the description. I'd rather take Lukki Mutation for the 25% resistance.

I took this perk on my Great Work run (35+ hours and counting), and I made this incredible healing wand that is a lifesaver in The Work (Hell). However, the healing bolts phase through me half the time. Now I know to probably pass on this next time and spend the cash re-rolling for Explosion Immunity or something more plausible.

I now have 11 Orbs, but I'm raking in Big Money in Hell and I don't want to leave. LoL

it is better to think of this perk as a chanced based thing. never take it as your main source of avoiding damage, but if you do have it, it can definitely save your ass. i have had it save me from a sniper that would have one shot me only for it then to let me die 2 seconds later to the same sniper.

it isn't a bad perk, but there are definitely better perks to grab first.

Note that if I'm not mistaken, it's a 50% chance per tick the projectile is in range. That means slow projectiles can have a much higher chance of getting moved behind you. Repulsion field-type perks can greatly increase the effect by slowing down projectiles to where they stay in range longer before hitting you as well.

Definitely not a bad perk, but yeah, it does hurt Healing Bolts until you get your hands on a way to cast spells ad-infinitum (i.e. killed the Ylialkemisti), because at that point you can cast Healing Bolt as often as you want. Combining Healing Bolt with Downwards Larpa probably also fixes that problem because Larpa projectiles are really fast.
